Disrespect towards me.
« on: January 17, 2013, 08:12:12 pm »
In all the time that I've been a staff member for Mike, Nick, anf the remenants of the SupraCraft crew, never have I ever seen such a disrespectful community. Especially towards me. Seriously, some of you are great, and I respect that, but the rest of you are absolutely rude to me. I'm not sure why, to be honest. I'm friendly, caring, respectful, and I even take money out of my own account and buy spawners, heads, and stars for people. I just don't understand what forced the community to be THIS rude and go as far as to call me an "imbecile" or a "moron".

Then there's the relationship between ID and I. I'd say we're...pretty decent buddies. We may not be the best of friends, but he's a good guy and I can respect that. So, I try to give a guy a break from time to time by telling people to lay off of him. What does that get me? Even more "ID" spam and constant messages saying that I'm jealous of him. What is wrong with this community? Are you all THAT immature?

I will not be quiting my staff position, but I'd like to see some changes around here. Either you all show me some respect, or I will stop respecting you all. It's your decision.

Rant over.

I'm so sorry to hear this, David. :(

:P Definitely glad not to see you go though; nice change around here!

The Community is expanding widely, and very quickly.
- I haven't even truly gotten started yet, haha.

I'm not on much during the day nowadays, but it does sound like this problem is growing and needs addressed.

With more RoleModels to help enforce the Rules and what-not, I'm hoping this will create less hostility.

Until then,
If negotiating to a friendly warfare with the offender seems obsolete; you do have the right to mute him/her.

Respect should be not only given to the Staff; but to everyone on the server, as well.

The lack of patience and courtesy in the server astound me.  There is very little respect shown towards the Staff, who spend most of their own free time (meant for playing the game) babysitting.  There is almost no appreciation for what you guys deal with on a daily basis.  You guys are the authority, people need to respect that.

Respect should be given, it is dis-respect someone earns.  Courtesy is a form of respect, you are courteous to random people you have never met when you open or hold a door for them.  That form of respect wasn't earned by someone you never met.  When that same person lets the door slam in your face the next time, they lose your respect, and they may not receive the courteous action next time.

David you have always been respectful and helpful on the server.  There is nothing I have seen in my time here that would make me lose respect for you. I have never seen you 'slam the door' in someones face.  The people who are not respectful are childish, and DO NOT deserve your respect anymore.  Being in an authority position will leave you feeling alone sometimes.  I helped run multiple servers across many games in the last 10 years, I had many close friends, and many enemies.  It comes with the job.  Just remember, most of us appreciate what you do.

David, you're one of my favorite people to see in-game, and I have great respect for what you do for the community.

It's discouraging that the nagging, complaining, and comparing has gotten so bad that you're now feeling like this, and I can only hope that the members get their acts together soon and realize how much you benefit their games. Try to remember that a large percent of our member-base is young children, many of whom have apparently not realized the importance of respect and that not giving it to those who deserve it will bite them in the butt in the future when you're no longer around to give generously. While it's nice to have the respect of all the members, it just may be impossible with some of these people, and honestly... you've got a lot of us backing you and appreciating you, so is it really worth the hurt to put yourself out on a limb for the rest of 'em just to be knocked back off again? Just continue to be you, and if that doesn't earn you respect, then it might be best to step away from that particular case and focus on the good.

Again, thanks for all you do, David! Good luck. :)
