Just FYI the i7-4770 is a 4 core processor, (8 threads) <--- information direct from Intel
Also, when thinking that your game is running at 300fps, think about this...
after a bit of research I have found that their are no monitors/tvs currently capable of displaying 300fps
Since the Hz rating of a display is how many times it can "refresh" the image on the screen in a second, the max rate you can get right now with the best displays out there is only 240hz
So even if the game displays 300fps on the debug screen, your graphics card doesn't have to work very hard to downgrade the frame rate to whatever your display is capable of.
99% of tvs and monitors fall into 3 category of Hz rating, low end/less expensive at only 60hz, mid grade/mid ranged at 120hz and high end/more expensive 240hz
As for choosing a new graphics card, if you want to be able to run any game with no lag, you need to at least double your budget,
But otherwise, there are many sites out there that offer side-by-side comparison options for 99% of graphics card, the idea would be to find a few that fit your computer with the video outputs you want in your price range, and compare them that way.
