I'd say step down from being a mod. I had this same dilemma when I was trying to decide whether to continue to be an admin, and as much as it sucks to do so, you opening up the spot for someone who can dedicate more time to playing would be better for the server as a whole. Even someone "poking you" to get on really isn't enough; someone else who is dedicated to playing for at least an hour everyday because he or she wants to, not because they've been pushed to (which could potentially make playing a chore, and it shouldn't be), would be a better fit.

Of course, that doesn't mean you can't still play as a regular member! I pop on when I've got the time. You miss your extra commands, but you live. :P And I've discovered that you still get exuberant greetings a lot of times when you log in, big "we missed you!"s, which leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy...

In any case, it's up to you, but I do have to say you were a great mod when you were on more regularly, Snowy. It was fun layin' down the law with you. ;) Hope all goes well whatever you choose to do!

Oh, CoCo, I'm sorry to hear that! Fingers crossed they're nothing to worry about and will go away as the weather warms. You'll definitely be in my thoughts. Hoping things look up for you!

(Looks like the outro sub-forum is gone. Or I'm just blind. In any case...)

Hey, guys.

I’m sure a number of you saw this coming, and I hate to say it, but I think I’m done with MC. I’d planned to resign as staff and stick around a while as just a regular member, even though my busy schedule wouldn’t allow me to be on all that often. I haven’t logged in since ID took over (nothing against him, of course; I’ve just started classes again and not had time), so I’m not entirely sure whether or not we had a fresh restart. Either way, though, I can’t bring myself to stay. For months, I’d spent most of my time on BC just flying around and chatting, not working on any new builds and instead tweaking the ones I’d already built. If we did restart, for those to be gone – all that work and time, and all those associated memories… I’m sure it’s fantastic for the server as a whole, but I don’t want to start over. And if we managed to save the old files? Hurrah! Still… I’m moving on. I've had my run with MC, and I'm ready to close this chapter. It's been a long time coming.

That said, I’ve made some really great friends in the last year. There are some bad apples in the community we’ve created, of course, but overall, I’ve loved being a part of it. Thanks to everyone for the fun and love. I do plan to pop on every once in a while (and I’ll be frequenting the forums more often than that) just to see how things are progressing, but I certainly won’t make a habit of it anymore. I’ve got quite a few of you on skype already, but if we’ve spoken at length in-game and you’d like to keep in contact with me, feel free to send me a PM and I’ll be happy to share my skype name. Be warned, though, I’m super busy these days and may go long periods of time without logging in. Still, I’ll be around! ;)

Have fun, guys, and as my brother would say… stay classy!

Ellunas out.

BeardedCraft Server / Shoutbox Etiquette
« on: August 01, 2013, 08:30:33 pm »
General reminder and announcement:

If you've got an issue with someone, please take it up with that particular individual before doing anything else. If a civil conversation doesn't work, then go ahead and send a staff member a message explaining the situation, and he/she will follow up with appropriate action. If it's a staff member you're unhappy with and talking to him/her first did no good, send Nxck or Mike a message and he'll look into things.

Do not take your conflicts with other members to the shoutbox. I've been deleting an increasing number of these types of shouts lately, and it's pretty irritating. The adult, mature way to handle conflicts is not by sharing them with the public. I know a good number of you are not adults, but now's as good a time as any to practice if you want to earn any level of respect in the real world. Besides that, what kind of community do you think we come off as to new members checking out the forums who see arguments and accusations in the shoutbox? Not a good one, I can assure you.

So please, keep the disagreements to messages. I'll continue to delete shouts if need be, and from now on, warnings will be delivered, as well. Thanks!

A nice reminder and request to run off in the other direction would have been appropriate, since you had no idea you were headed into a restricted area. Ahem ahem, staff.

But in any case, Alton, if you'd like, I can help you build a new home, if that would help. I won't be on for a few days, seeing as I'm on a road trip, but if you feel like waiting, I'd be happy to assist. :)

He's in Indiana, not Michigan, but close enough. :P And you can hunt there, as well, with tags.

Anyhoo...... I've seen Mike, in person, baha, and you're not too far off, Dan.

I was wondering the same thing, Rabid. :P

......so... I got very bored while cooking today and decided to pass the time by taking pictures. Lame mirror shot, wooo!
